Full Time Public School Teacher

As a full-time public school teacher for the last 15+ years, protecting equitable and high-quality public education is my number one priority. That’s why I am running for the San Diego County Board of Education representing District 4.

Social Justice Advocate

Social justice advocacy and organizing has been a cornerstone of my life for over 30 years.

Union Officer

Currently, I am an active member of the executive board for my union, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for youth in foster care, and my classes at the largest community college in San Diego–Mesa College– focus on social problems and public policy.

Volunteering

As a CASA, I volunteer in the Juvenile Justice program for Voices for Children. This provides me in-depth and hands-on experience with alternative schools that are under the direct purview of the County Board of Education.

Community Organizing

I am deeply engaged in community organizing, student mentorship, and political advocacy, which means I will be able to hit the ground running when you elect me to be your public education advocate.
